What is KRA PIN Amendment?

KRA PIN Amendment is the process of changing the details on the KRA PIN that is already on KRA iTax Portal. It is important to note that Amendment can only be done on KRA PINs thare already on the new iTax Portal. This process of amending the details on iTax Portal is waht is referred to as KRA PIN Amendment.

What is KRA PIN Update?

KRA PIN Update is the process of migrating the KRA PIN that is not yet on iTax Portal into the iTax Portal. This process of migrating the KRA PIN is what is called KRA PIN Update. All KRA PINs that are not yet on the iTax Portal need to be migrated there as per the instructions issued by Kenya Revenue Authority.

What Details of KRA PIN can be Amended?

For KRA PIN Amendment, you need to take note that we are amending the KRA PIN. Below are the sections on your KRA PIN that can be Amended using iTax Portal.

• Basic Information
• Bank Account Details
• Tributary Bonds
• Tax Agent authorized to submit application on behalf of the taxpayer
• Value Added Tax
• Alternative Address and Contact Details
• Partnership, Corporate and Trust Trust Information
• Source of Income
• Intermediary Agent to submit returns on behalf of the Taxpayer

The above forms the key areas on your KRA PIN that can be amended.

Conditions for Auto Approval of KRA PIN Amendment?

You need to take note that KRA PIN Amendment requires some approval. Verification task by KRA Officer will not be generated of you make changes to following fields on your KRA PIN:

Section A: Basic Information

1. Trading/Business Name – If different that registered name
2. Do you wish to declare Legal Representative?
3. Principle Postal Address
4. Principle Contact Details
5. Alternative Address and Contact Details
6. Bank Account Details

Section C: Source of Income Details

1. Details of Economic Activities

Section E: Agent Details

1. DetAtails of Tax Agent
2. Details of Intermediary Agent

From the above, take note that if you Amend any of the above section, it will be automatically approved by the system.

Changes on PIN that Require Approval by KRA Officer

If you make amendment changes to the following section, it will require an approval from KRA Officer. A task will be automatically generated and you will have to wait for Approval of the Amendment. In most cases the approval notice is normally sent to your registered email address.

3. Source of Income
