Join the Discussion - Public Participation in the Valuation Process for Used Motor Vehicles

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) wishes to inform the public about an important update regarding the valuation of used motor vehicles. In adherence to the court ruling on petition 190 of 2018 and in alignment with Article 47 of the Constitution, the KRA is mandated to conduct a comprehensive public participation process.

This process is essential to gather views and opinions on the Free on Board (FOB) values for used motor vehicles before the implementation of a new motor vehicle valuation database. The importation of motor vehicles is a matter that significantly impacts the public, necessitating broad-based engagement and feedback.

As such, the KRA is organizing engagement sessions with various stakeholders, including those involved in the motor vehicle importation value chain, the general public, and any other interested parties. These sessions aim to ensure that all voices are heard and considered in the decision-making process.
